Pulaski Day

Basically a Polish pride day. Casimir (Kazimierz) Pulaski lived from 1747 to 1779. He came to the U.S. in 1777 and was made a general in the revolutionary army in 1778. Pulaski Day is observed as a legal holiday in Chicago

Purim, a Jewish holiday, is observed on Adar 14 and 15 by the Hebrew calendar. This day commemorates queen Esther's intervention in the 5th century BC to save the Jews of Persia. The story of her actions is retold on this day Observance begins at sunset
